About this gift

Worldwide, more than 32 million disabled children don’t go to school. These children are denied their fundamental right to learn, just because they have a disability. Just £24 can help train a teacher so they can include disabled children in their classroom.

Samadou, 7, is an energetic boy from Tenkodogo, Burkina Faso. People used to bully him because of his disability and his mother was scared to send him to school.

HI’s team provided the little boy with an adapted prosthetic leg and helped him to enrol at his local school. Samadou now has one-on-one support from a visiting teacher trained by HI. The other children now include him, and he can often be seen chasing lizards with his friends or speeding along on the back of his brother’s bike!
