About this gift
£30 could provide a prosthetic limb to a child like Khendo or Nirmala, helping them to walk again.
Khendo and Nirmals both lost a leg in the huge earthquake that hit Nepal in 2015. The girls started rehabilitation sessions with HI’s physiotherapists and soon became friends. They were fitted with prosthetic legs and we helped them learn to walk again.
Three years on, the girls are still almost never apart and even go to school together. Our team adjusts their prostheses every six months because they are growing so fast.
Giving a child amputee like Khendo or Nirmala the chance to walk again means helping them to take positive steps towards a brighter future.
